The week of September 14 to 20, 2026 brings a whirlwind of cosmic energy as Venus in Scorpio clashes with Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus, stirring deep emotions, unexpected revelations, and a restless hunger for freedom in our relationships and values. A rare and significant Neptune-Pluto sextile adds a spiritual undercurrent, quietly nudging humanity toward greater enlightenment and collective empowerment. Meanwhile, Chiron's return to Aries calls us to revisit and heal old wounds tied to aggression, arrogance, and the misuse of power.

Astrologer Pam Younghans guides us through it all, reminding us that even in turbulent times, clarity and inner knowing are available to those who seek them.

This Week's Astrological Overview:

  • Venus in Scorpio squares Pluto and forms tense angles to Neptune and Uranus — expect intensity, confusion, and sudden shifts in relationships and values
  • The Neptune-Pluto sextile marks its second pass of a long-term transit, supporting a collective awakening that will unfold through 2032
  • Chiron re-enters Aries on Thursday, beginning a six-month journey to heal wounds of the unevolved masculine — self-centeredness, aggression, and arrogance
  • A Mercury-Saturn opposition on Friday offers a rare moment of mental clarity and realism amid the week's emotional turbulence
  • The lingering influence of last week's Uranus retrograde station continues to quicken the pace of change, with Bob Dylan's words ringing truer than ever

FOR THE TIMES, THEY ARE A-CHANGIN': A song by folk singer Bob Dylan, entitled "The Times They Are A-Changin'," has been running through my mind the past few days. And looking more closely at the lyrics, I can see why:

As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin'
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times, they are a-changin'

The speed of change right now can feel overwhelming at times. That's been especially true of this past week, with high-frequency Uranus coming to a standstill as it turned retrograde. We're still in that Uranian heat zone this week, although the intensity should gradually start to fade as the sideways-spinning planet picks up the pace.

Helping to ease the intensity a bit and enabling us to hold a higher perspective, Neptune and Pluto are exactly sextile this Tuesday. This harmonious aspect between the planets of Divine Love and Divine Will supports a collective shift that embraces both spiritual enlightenment and social empowerment. This week marks the second pass of a very long-term transit that will perfect 13 times in the six-year period from 2026 to 2032.

VENUS IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Venus, the planet of Love and Values, entered Scorpio last Thursday, increasing our desire for truth and transparency in both personal relationships and financial matters. Our satisfaction in this regard is put to the test this week when Venus forms challenging aspects with the three outer planets: passionate Pluto and nebulous Neptune on Tuesday, and freedom-loving Uranus on Sunday.

On the one hand, we could be drawn into power struggles or other intense interactions with Venus squaring Pluto. Secrets that are revealed could be disturbing.

At the same time, we might be confused about what we really want with Venus quincunx Neptune. Some of that bewilderment could be due to being drawn into another's emotional reality too easily, since Neptune can blur the boundaries between self and other.

All of this passion and confusion combine with restlessness by the end of the week, when Venus is quincunx rebellious Uranus. Some may make seemingly sudden decisions, perhaps distancing themselves from a troublesome relationship, or breaking a too-restrictive contract or agreement (Uranus in Gemini).

Issues that arise this week are not likely to be resolved overnight, since Venus will soon be going retrograde and will form all three of these aspects again in mid-October and early December.

DECISION TIME: Even as we navigate this week's Venusian dramas, there are moments of mental clarity toward the end of the work week, represented by a Mercury-Saturn opposition that perfects on Friday. However, while this aspect can help us be realistic about an issue, it can also tend toward pessimism—seeing the glass half empty instead of half full.

Still, in an otherwise highly emotional week, the objectivity offered by this Mercury-Saturn aspect could be a welcome relief. The challenge will be not to allow the fear of making the wrong decision to undermine our ability to use reason as we weigh the options.

DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (September 14 to 20, 2026):

Monday

Sun sextile Mars: This aspect supports concrete action to improve health or emotional issues.

Tuesday

Venus square Pluto, Venus quincunx Neptune: Relationships are in the crosshairs today. Emotions may be intense, but at the same time confusing.

Neptune sextile Pluto: This harmonious yet subtle aspect plays a significant role in the longer-term evolution of humanity, guiding us toward a more enlightened and empowered future.

Wednesday

No major aspects are exact today.

Thursday

Chiron re-enters Aries: After three months in Taurus, Chiron returns to Aries to complete some unfinished business. For the next six months, from September 18, 2026, to April 14, 2027, we will be revisiting and having more opportunities to heal the wounds inflicted by the unevolved masculine: self-centeredness, arrogance, the belief that might equals right, impatience, aggression, and ruthlessness.

Friday

Mercury opposite Saturn: Serious matters are on our minds today. With Mercury in Libra, we may have a variety of options to choose from, which can lead to second-guessing ourselves. We might feel pressured to make a decision; it will be important to trust our inner knowing, not to let fear or a need to please others influence our thinking.

Saturday

No major aspects are exact today.

Sunday

Venus quincunx Uranus: A restlessness and need for independence can inspire impulsive decisions or surprising conversations.

Mars square Eris: People may be quite irritable and impatient today. Some may have a rather large chip on their shoulder and take everything personally.

If Your Birthday Is This Week (September 14 to 20, 2026):

At times this year, you are likely to feel very energized and that the wind is at your back as you go about your business. And yet, you may also deal with periods of uncertainty or disillusionment. At these times, it is important to balance your Virgo need to be in control and to have all the details figured out, with a more spiritual perspective based on faith in the universe and trust in the process. You may be inspired to advocate for others—especially women—who have been disenfranchised or ignored. (Solar Return Sun sextile Mars, opposite Neptune, quincunx Eris)
