In the midst of life's challenges—financial pressures, disagreements, even grief—we can lose touch with our ability to simply pause and experience this moment. Yet we possess an innate power to reclaim positive feelings in our hearts, even when circumstances seem difficult. Today reminds us that choosing joy isn't about denying reality; it's about exercising our birthright to be present and alive right now.
 
The focus for today is:
I choose to enjoy this moment.

Selby's grandmother Granny demonstrated this truth beautifully—even while caring for her dying son, she would regularly go out on the porch, take a deep breath, tune in to nature, and shift into a positive feeling in her heart. Her wisdom was simple but profound: he was feeling bad enough as it was, without others pulling him down further by also feeling bad. When we think ourselves into anxiety, we actually reduce our ability to take care of ourselves in the present moment. Every time you exercise this particular mental and emotional muscle, it will become stronger.
